A Taste of Mzansi

Confluence (Westdene) and Confluence Bistro (Parktown North) are two distinct dining experiences that share a common mission: to celebrate South Africa’s

rich culinary heritage. Both restaurants focus on local ingredients, authentic flavours, and a welcoming atmosphere, but each offers a unique take on how guests can enjoy these tastes. Whether you’re after a full-course meal in a lively setting or a more casual dining experience centered around small plates, Confluence and Confluence Bistro provide the best of South African cuisine in their own special ways.

Both Confluence and Confluence Bistro are committed to celebrating the rich flavours of South Africa, using locally sourced ingredients and showcasing traditional dishes with a modern twist. The design of both restaurants shares the same rustic-modern aesthetic, filled with South African art and textiles, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance.

However, the two restaurants offer different dining experiences. Confluence is a full-service restaurant with a more extensive menu, including Shisa Nyama, Lamb Potjie, South African-inspired pizzas, and small plates, providing an immersive, communal dining experience. It’s ideal for those looking for a hearty meal or a special occasion out.

In contrast, Confluence Bistro focuses on small plates and potjies, offering a more relaxed and casual atmosphere perfect for tasting and sharing. Confluence Bistro does not serve Shisa Nyama but instead emphasizes lighter dishes and South African wines, craft beers, and gins, making it an ideal spot for a light meal or drinks with friends.

A cultural hub where people of all backgrounds can come together, share stories, and experience the warmth of South African hospitality.
